Project description
The PRIDE Project seeks to enhance student learning in fifteen Pacific countries by strengthening the capacity of each Ministry of Education (or equivalent) to effectively plan and deliver quality basic education through formal and non-formal means, and to improve the coordination of donor inputs to assist countries implement their plans. It covers all types of education dealing with children and youth. Expected results are the development of strategic plans for each participating country, designed with input from all stakeholders, at the national and local levels, and the development of an online resource centre to share best practices. The project is implemented by the Institute of Education, University of Fiji, and activities are approved by the Project Steering Committee, comprised of the Directors of Education of all 15 countries, representatives of the donor organizations, NGOs and others. To support the strategic plans, the Project is developing benchmarks and working in data collection and management; financial management; and monitoring and evaluation.
